Join us on Tuesday September 11 (6:30 Reception, 7:00 Dinner) as we co-host an exciting wine dinner with The Rare Wine Company. The Rare Wine Co. is both a retailer and an importer based in Sonoma, California. Their import portfolio, while not large in size, includes many of the very top names in some of Europe’s most prominent wine regions. On September 11 we’ll be pouring a selection of their most compelling wines with a five course menu created by Chef Brian Aaron. Cost for the dinner with wine pairings is $75 per person. Reservations will be limited and can be made by emailing barryt@tanninwinebar.com.
The Rare Wine Co. was founded by Mannie Berk in 1989 and was soon recognized as the Best Wine Importer in America by Food and Wine Magazine. Today their import offerings are focused on a few of the absolute pinnacles of excellence in several choice regions. Domaine Huet from Vouvray, Jacques Selosse in Champagne, Domaine Pallus in Chinon, Rene Rostaing in Cote Rotie and J.P. Fichet in Meursault constitute the entire line up of their French offerings but I certainly can’t think producers in any of these regions that are more consistently excellent. In Italy names like G. Mascarello Piedmont, Bussola in the Veneto match the reputation of their French counterparts. The portfolio also features leading Spanish, Hungarian and Portugese producers (and the highly touted Rare Wine Co. Historic Series Madeiras). The menu and wine pairing for the evening are not yet finalized but with talent such as these to offer, we’re convinced that it will be an exciting event not to be missed!
